  • Bayern Munich and Dortmund are tied at the top of the German Bundesliga in one of the most exciting title races around the world.
  • Both clubs are favored to win their matchups this weekend before their pivotal meeting on April 6th at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
  • I've broken down the betting market for Week 27 of the Bundesliga to pinpoint where public and sharps are betting.

Bayern Munich have been on a roll in the Bundesliga and are tied with Dortmund at the top of the standings with 60 points apiece.

With just eight league matches remaining in the season, fans and bettors are in for a fantastic finish, but there's a lot more to pay attention to up-and-down the standings.

Here's a look at the title race, relegation battle and betting market breakdown for this weekend's Bundesliga matches.

Germany Bundesliga Week 27 Betting Odds

Title Race

Bayern Munich and Dortmund are tied atop the Bundesliga with 60 points each after both clubs won again last matchday, albeit in different fashion. Bayern won by a 6-0 scoreline for the second straight league game while Dortmund had to escape with a late 3-2 road win at Hertha Berlin.

Despite being level on points, Bayern Munich are still considerable -275 favorites to win another Bundesliga title while Dortmund are available at odds of +220. Bayern hold a seven-goal cushion in the decisive goal-differential stat, +41 to +34.

Dortmund did suffer some bad news over the International Break as midfielder Christian Pulisic left USA's friendly against Chile with a strained right quad. He's out this weekend against Wolfsburg, but will hopefully return for the crucial match on April 6th against Bayern.

Relegation Battle

Nurnberg and Hannover both need multiple wins to get to safety and things don't look good for either of them, though they each have winnable home matches this weekend as Nurnberg are +195 against Augsburg, and Hannover +355 against struggling Schalke.

Speaking of Augsburg and Schalke, they're both fighting along with Stuttgart to avoid the dreaded 16th place.

That's the spot which would send them to a playoff against a second-division club in order to stay alive in the Bundesliga for another year.

Week 27 Betting Market Breakdown

Frankfurt have been one of the hottest clubs in Europe and haven't lost a competitive match in the 2019 calendar year, so it's no surprise to see bettors backing them once again. They've now outscored opponents 5-0 in their last four games including two shutouts against Inter Milan in the Europa League.

For this weekend's game against Stuttgart, Frankfurt have already moved from -180 to -220 and the market shows no signs of slowing down.

Werder Bremen are another club on a tear lately and haven't lost a competitive match since 2018. They've picked up four wins and five draws in that stretch and have moved from -145 to -160 against Mainz for Saturday.

Bremen have scored in 27 consecutive Bundesliga matches dating back to the final day of the 2017-18 and should be able to continue that streak with ease on home soil.

Another major shift has been toward Hoffenheim, dropping from +150 to +130 for Friday's contest against Leverkusen. This move is a bit more surprising since Leverkusen have owned Hoffenheim recently and historically, and Hoffenheim have won just twice in their last 15 Bundesliga games.

Instead of the moneyline, I'm focused on the over/under and really like the value on Over (3.5) at normal juice.

Both clubs are in the top-five in scoring and have rarely played in low-scoring games this season, and almost every Hoffenheim match has been wide-open. There will be plenty of opportunities to score, it'll just be a matter of finishing those chances.

Value Plays

  • Werder Bremen (-150) vs. Mainz
  • Hoffenheim-Leverkusen Over 3.5 (-110)
