World Cup Goal Scorer Picks Today: Best Bets for Saturday, July 4 article feature image
2 min read

The Round of 16 is here, and unfortunately that means no more three-game slates. However, this is the business end of the tournament, and the matchups are mouth-watering. We'll have one pick from each game today. Let’s get into it.

The stakes are higher as the tournament progresses, but I'm still delivering daily picks, so continue reading for my goal scorer picks and World Cup player props for Saturday, July 4.

World Cup Goal Scorer Picks Today

Morocco vs Canada Goal Scorer Pick

Brahim Díaz — Goal or Assist vs. Canada (+160)

Morocco are unbeaten at this World Cup after collecting seven points in the group stage, plus a dramatic penalty shootout victory over the Netherlands in the Round of 32.

Brahim Díaz has been the creative engine behind basically every dangerous moment. The Real Madrid star has provided two assists in this tournament, operating as Morocco’s chief playmaker alongside Ismael Saibari, who has scored three goals.

Díaz and Achraf Hakimi form a crucial combination down Morocco’s right flank, one of the more dangerous partnerships at this entire tournament.

Canada reached the Round of 16 for the first time in their history, but they have missed more big chances than almost any other team in the tournament and needed a 92nd-minute winner just to see off South Africa.

Morocco are the clear favorites. Díaz will be at the center of everything. Back him at +160 for a goal contribution.

France vs Paraguay Goal Scorer Pick

Michael Olise — Assist vs. Paraguay (+130)

If they keep giving us this type of price on Michael Olise, we have to keep taking it. Olise’s five assists are already the highest by any player in a single World Cup campaign since 1994— and he is one assist shy of Pele’s all-time record of six set in 1970.

France have scored at least three goals in each of their last five World Cup matches — the longest such streak in the history of the competition.

Paraguay kept two clean sheets in the group stage and beat Germany on penalties. They’re a gritty team, but France’s attacking machine has been unstoppable.

Thierry Henry compared Olise to Zinedine Zidane on the ball and Patrick Vieira off it. Kylian Mbappe gets a lot of the plaudits, but Olise makes his life a lot easier in front of goal.

At +130 for the outright assist leader at this World Cup, this number is simply too good to pass up.

Good luck!
