Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey we have a much anticipated matchup between Brazil and Norway. Two of the most dangerous attacks in the tournament going head-to-head in a Round of 16 matchup that should produce goals. Two picks, both backed by tournament numbers and current form.
The stakes are higher as the tournament progresses, but I'm still delivering daily picks, so continue reading for my goal scorer picks and World Cup player props for Sunday, July 5.

Matheus Cunha — Anytime Goalscorer vs. Norway (+175)
The Manchester United forward has been one of Brazil’s dangerous weapons at this tournament and, at +175, the market is undervaluing him. Cunha scored a brilliant brace against Haiti in the group stage, finishing the group stage with three goals in total. He has been the perfect foil for Vinícius in Ancelotti’s fluid front line, capable of dropping deep, interchanging positions, and arriving late into the box. He completed 100% of his passes in the 2-1 Round of 32 win over Japan. His role isn’t glamorous, but his output is. Norway have conceded in every match of this tournament. Against a Brazil attack featuring Cunha, Vinícius, and Rodrygo, that trend is unlikely to change. At over 2/1 on a player with three World Cup goals already, this is great value.
Erling Haaland — Anytime Goalscorer vs. Brazil (+115)
Even Haaland himself admits Norway’s chances are slim — “very slim,” he said after beating Ivory Coast. That hasn’t stopped him from scoring in every single game. Five goals in three World Cup matches. He has now scored in each of his last 13 consecutive competitive games for Norway — 25 goals in that run — and became the fastest player in history to reach 60 international goals, doing so in just 53 appearances. He is Norway’s entire attack, their talisman, and the one player who can single-handedly turn a match for them. Brazil’s defense hasn’t been elite when facing tough competition in this World Cup and will give up chances to the Norwegians. At +115 for Erling Haaland to score yet again, back him without hesitation.
