2020 PGA Championship Odds: Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka the Favorites, Tiger Woods 33-1 at TPC Harding Park

At long last, the first Major Championship of the year has arrived.

The 2020 PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, Aug. 6 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, and if the odds are any indication, this thing is wide open.

Justin Thomas at +900 ($10 bet wins $90) is the only player with single-digit odds, but the recently crowned St. Jude Invitational champ has got plenty of company atop the board.

Brooks Koepka (+1100), Rory McIlroy (+1500), Bryson DeChambeau (+1500), Jon Rahm (+1500) and Xander Schauffele (+1800) follow, the only other players under 20-1.

Tiger Woods comes in at +3300, tied with Webb Simpson as the 10th betting choice. The Big Cat has only played one tournament during The Return to Golf and it's hard to glean anything from Tiger's T-40 at Memorial. The made cut was certainly encouraging at a tough track, but Woods never really came close to contending.

One thing is for certain, the sportsbooks will take plenty of money on Tiger even at 33-1.

Koepka's odds are also worth noting, since the four-time major champ drifted into the mid-30's ahead of last week's WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Koepka wasn't in great form heading into TPC Southwind and he admitted that his knee wasn't 100%, but the 30-year-old certainly didn't look off-song in Memphis where he finished T-2 at 10-under.

You can also expect the game's two preeminent young guns, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland to attract plenty of support at +3500 and +6000, respectively. Even though Morikawa is the only one of the two with a win during the Return to Golf, Hovland has contended in some deep fields and is not without a chance in the Bay Area.

Perhaps no player has seen his odds improve as much as Jason Day over the past few weeks. After struggling to find his form and battling injury issues for the better part of a year, Day has strung together three consecutive top-10 finishes leading into Major Season.

Matthew Fitzpatrick also has his game in great shape ahead of the PGA Championship and has moved all the way down to +3500 on the heels of top-10s at Memorial and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

When fields are this deep you can often find great value in the +5000 to +7500 range and this week is no different. Patrick Reed (+5000), Gary Woodland (+5000), Rickie Fowler (+5200), Abraham Ancer (+5500), Tyrrell Hatton (+5500) and Tommy Fleetwood (+6000) could all pay off in a big way if they bring their A-Game to the West Coast.

Adam Scott (+7000), who is making his first start since missing the cut at The Genesis Invitational in February, headlines the next portion of the board. The Dapper Aussie has the same odds as Jordan Spieth, Sergio Garcia and Scottie Scheffler.

Phil Mickelson was one of four players to finish T-2 at TPC Southwind last week but oddsmakers aren't too sure that Lefty can follow up his performance with a win at Harding Park. Mickelson currently sits at +9000, which gives him a 1.1% chance of winning when you convert those odds to implied win probability.
