Tonight is the perfect time to put this welcome offer to work and ride it into the weekend with Houston vs. Texas Tech (8 p.m. ET, FOX) on your first trade. Hey, you need somewhere to land that first trade, so why not on the Big-12 opener for each team? The in-state Texas showdown is sure to be a good one, with both teams in the Top-25 and plenty of points expected.
That's the headline offer on one of the fastest-growing sports prediction markets in the country, and the timing works out nicely with three Week 3 games kicking off tonight. Tomorrow has a full slate of CFB odds, and it all starts with Georgia vs. Arkansas (12 p.m. ET, ABC), followed by Florida State vs. Alabama (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), leading into the main event, featuring LSU vs. Ole Miss (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC), as Lane Kiffin makes his highly anticipated return to Oxford.
ProphetX Promo Code TANBONUS at a Glance
The key difference from a traditional sportsbook welcome offer: your bonus doesn't hinge on whether your trades win. Hit the $50 threshold and the credits are yours regardless of how those positions settle. On ProphetX, that all translates to a deep menu: game-winner contracts, spread and total markets, and player props. Because the exchange is peer-to-peer, you can also post your own price instead of accepting what's showing, which is useful on a line that's moved this much.

Kickoff for Houston vs. Texas Tech is on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. For the most updated odds, be sure to check ProphetX before the game begins.
Both teams enter at 2-0, and both have already beaten Oregon State by nearly identical margins: 33-20 for Houston and 35-24 for Texas Tech. The market has taken notice. Texas Tech opened near -13 and has been bid all the way down to -7.5, a five-and-a-half-point correction toward the road team even though the Red Raiders sit nine spots higher in the poll. The total is 52.5, with Texas Tech priced around -295 on the moneyline and Houston in the +240 range. When a number moves that far that fast, it usually means the opening line was built on reputation rather than roster.
I'm taking Houston +7.5, and the case starts up front. Oregon State managed just 26 rushing yards against the Cougars, and Texas Tech's ground game has looked functional rather than explosive through two weeks against lesser competition. Willie Fritz has Conner Weigman back at quarterback, and Weigman has seen enough hostile road environments not to be rattled by a sold-out Friday night in Lubbock. Texas Tech also has a genuine replacement problem, having lost several key contributors off last year's College Football Playoff team, and the Red Raiders are 0-2 against the spread this season without covering in either start as a heavy favorite. Asking a team that hasn't covered yet to win by more than a touchdown against a top-25 defense is a lot.
The counterarguments deserve a hearing. Texas Tech has won seven consecutive meetings in this series, including a 35-11 beating in Houston last October, and that streak holds despite Houston leading the all-time series 18-17-1. Tech's front seven is loaded and ranks 17th in returning defensive production while Houston sits 44th, so if the Red Raiders build an early lead, Shiel Wood's defense can pin its ears back and go after Weigman. Thunderstorms are possible early in Lubbock, and sloppy conditions probably help the home team, which already played through heavy rain against Oregon State.
Even granting all of that, Houston's improvement is the more mispriced idea here. Fritz went 10-3 last season after a 4-8 debut, this is a Cougars team that was a popular preseason pick to reach the Big 12 title game with 11 returning starters, and a touchdown-plus feels like the market still paying for the streak rather than the matchup. Give me the points. On ProphetX, spread contracts, game-winner markets and player props are all live for this one, and because the exchange is peer-to-peer you can post your own price on Houston rather than accept whatever is showing.
Houston vs. Texas Tech Prediction: Houston +7.5 (50.5%)
Why Trade on ProphetX?
ProphetX isn't a sportsbook. It operates as a CFTC-approved Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization, which lets users legally trade event contracts nationwide rather than place traditional wagers. Instead of betting into a house-built margin, you're trading against other users at market-set prices, and ProphetX takes a small commission, typically around 2%, on net winnings.
For a game where the number has swung five and a half points in a week, that pricing structure matters. Sharp line movement usually means disagreement, and disagreement is what makes an exchange interesting.
Enter promo code TANBONUS at registration, deposit at least $10, and work through $50 in qualifying trades to unlock $75 in trading bonus paid out over three weeks. Friday's Big 12 clash in Lubbock is a reasonable place to start.
