For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be targeting Giancarlo Stanton, Chris Sale and Jordan Westburg.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for June 18, 2025.
MLB Player Props — 6/18
- Giancarlo Stanton Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115, BetMGM)
- Chris Sale Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+105, Fanatics)
- Jordan Westburg Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-135, DraftKings)
Angels vs Yankees Player Props: Stanton Returns in Favorable Matchup
The Yankees have lost five games in a row, as they've scored three runs in their last five games. They enter tonight's game without a run in their last 29 innings.
They'll look to stem the tide with Stanton back in the lineup.
Stanton made his season debut on Monday, and he has two hits in each of his first two games. Tonight, he'll face Jack Kochanowicz, which should go in his favor.
Kochanowicz ranks in the fifth percentile with 49.3% Hard Hit Percentage and 26th percentile with a 10% Barrel Rate. Stanton doesn't qualify for Statcast tracking yet this season, but he typically is among the league's leaders in Average Exit Velocity and Hard Hit Percentage.
Kochanowicz also has a 5.53 ERA this season. Whether the Yankees actually score some runs tonight remains to be seen.
However, I do like Stanton for two total bases, whether it's with a double or another multi-hit game.
Mets vs Braves Player Props: Sale Poised to Carve Up Mets' Lineup
Sale won his first Cy Young Award last year, and he should find himself on ballots once again this year. This year, he has a 2.79 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings. He's cleared this line in eight of his last 10 starts, including four starts with 10 strikeouts or more in that span.
Getting to double-digits against the Mets is often difficult. They rank just 26th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitchers.
However, Sale had nine strikeouts in his one start against the Mets last season. Juan Soto wasn't in that lineup, but Sale has gotten him six times in seven at-bats. He's fanned Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor and Starling Marte at least twice, as well.
Sale ranks in the 92nd percentile with a 31.7% strikeout rate this season. He's also in the 85th percentile or better in Whiff Rate and Chase Rate. That's helped him pile up the strikeouts even when he doesn't work that deep into the game.
With six innings tonight — as he's gone in his last five starts — he'll have the opportunity for eight strikeouts.
Orioles vs Rays Player Props: Westburg Looks to Stay Hot vs. Bradley
The Orioles have been a major disappointment this season, and it certainly didn't help when they lost Jordan Westburg for over a month.
Westburg returned last Tuesday and since, he's hitting .385 with two doubles, three home runs, eight runs batted in and a 1.274 OPS. He has a hit in six of his last seven games, and the Orioles are 4-3 in that span.
Tonight, he'll face Taj Bradley, who he's 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against. Bradley also has reverse splits this season. Left-handed hitters are hitting .214 while right-handed hitters are hitting .250 against him.
That should work in Westburg's favor more compared to when he faces Gunnar Henderson or Adley Rutschman.
Since returning from the IL, Westburg has scored a run in four of his last seven games and has driven in a run in four of his last seven games, as well. That's helped him record two hits + runs + runs batted in five of his last seven games.
He's also cleared this number in five of his last eight games against Tampa Bay, including when he had five last night.
I expect that trend to continue tonight.
