  • Using historical betting data and results, one NASCAR driver with 110-1 odds is a smart bet for Sunday's The Real Heroes 400 at Darlington Raceway.
  • Learn about a live longshot who could shock the field and cash for bettors a triple-digit odds.

NASCAR Cup cars have not raced in two months, but they will come roaring back to life at Darlington Raceway on Sunday.

The race will not have practice or qualifying, meaning there wasn't much new information for bettors throughout the week.

That may not be ideal for those who typically rely on practice data, which I do. As a result, I've had to dig deep into historical data to find an edge, especially for longer shots further down the odds board.

However, there is one longshot driver I've been planning to bet at this racetrack since the offseason, and with the schedule shaken up due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're getting the opportunity much sooner than I expected.

NASCAR at Darlington Odds, Pick

While he hasn't made a start at Darlington in the NASCAR Cup Series, Tyler Reddick has showed plenty of speed at "The Lady in Black" over the past two XFINITY Series seasons.

In 2018, Reddick ran the third-most fast laps and had the third-best driver rating en route to a third-place finish in a race that also included Cup Series stars Brad Keselowski (who won), Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick.

Reddick finished second last season and was even more competitive, evidenced by leading the most laps, running the third-most fast laps and finishing with the second-best driver rating.

And once again, that event included stars Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Hamlin initially appeared to win the race, but failed post-race inspection, moving Cole Custer to first and Reddick to second.

Reddick excels at tracks like Darlington with big tire falloff that requires drivers to run different lines, so I'm taking a crack at the rookie to put himself in contention at a big price of 110-1.

FanDuel Sportsbook has 110-1 and I've also seen 100-1 out there, so be sure to shop for the best odds. I'm comfortable betting Reddick down to 80-1.
