NBA Player Prop Picks Tonight | Pistons vs Knicks
Fontecchio has hit the ground running with his new team. Since joining the Pistons in a trade deadline deal, Fontecchio has cleared this line in four of five games.
While he doesn’t quite have the same pedigree as former Piston Bojan Bogdanovic, Fontecchio fills the void of off-ball scoring. A capable spot up shooter (38.7% from three point range), the third-year NBA vet complements the on-ball prowess of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey.
In two games against the Knicks as a member of the Jazz, Fontecchio registered 14 and 15 points. Now in an expanded role in Detroit, I like the Italian to clear the 13-point threshold tonight.
While the Knicks defense has regressed a bit with some key pieces injured, the focal point of their defense is to limit shots at the rim, and push the ball outside the arc. Overall this season, Knicks opponents have the 10th highest three-point shot frequency.
Fontecchio is averaging 13 field goal attempts in his short tenure as a Piston. This season, he has cleared this points line in 12 of 14 games when he’s managed to put up at least 10 shots. In an expanded role, I have him projected at 12 field goal attempts and 14 points tonight.
