Welcome to the penultimate weekend of the college baseball regular season.
Most regular-season conference races are over, and those futures bets will settle soon. But that doesn’t mean the intrigue is over — teams are still making a desperate case for the NCAA Tournament beyond their conference tournament performance.
This Friday, we’re looking into some college baseball best bets targeting teams trying to make a case for a spot in the tournament and a bid as an NCAA Regional host.
Let's take a look at my college baseball picks and NCAA baseball parlay for Friday, May 8.

Arkansas + Florida State Parlay
- No. 24 Oklahoma at No. 17 Arkansas (5 p.m. ET · SEC Network+)
- No. 14 Florida State at Clemson (6 p.m. ET · ACC Network Extra)
Tuesday’s edition of the Field of 64 from D1Baseball named Florida State the 13th national seed and omits Clemson entirely. That makes this series in Clemson pivotal for both teams.
Win the series, and the Tigers might be right back in tourney talk; sweep the series, and Florida State makes a solid case to be a Regional host.
Last Friday, FSU's Wes Mendes pitched a complete game in a 10-1 win over Pitt, allowing five hits on just 105 total pitches. When Florida State scores at least four runs with Mendes on the mound, the ‘Noles are 8-1 outright.
They’ll have a strong chance at that, as Clemson’s Dane Moehler hasn’t been excellent as the opener, giving up six earned runs over three starts in just 5 2/3 innings pitched.
The other half of the parlay comes in Fayetteville. Arkansas projects to be the 20th national seed and, coincidentally, placed in the forecasted Tallahassee Regional.
Arkansas’ 11 Quad 1 wins are tied for sixth nationally, and the Razorbacks are one of just seven teams nationally to both (a) have double-digit Quad 1 wins and (b) have a winning record against Quad 1 teams.
You have to go back to April 2 to find the last time Arkansas dropped a Game 1 under Hunter Dietz and back to March to find the last Dietz loss at home.
Meanwhile, we’ve seen a bit of a skid from Oklahoma, which has dropped four of its last six contests.
This is a two-team parlay built on the shoulders of two of the most elite pitchers in the country.
Pick: Arkansas + Florida State ML Parlay (+144)
