This Tuesday night offers a jam-packed slate with regional rivalries galore.

  • Texas Tech vs. New Mexico (4 p.m. ET · GoLobos.com)
  • Wake Forest vs. Coastal Carolina (6:30 p.m. ET · ACC Network)

The days of the nationally dominant Texas Tech baseball teams are in the past, but the 2026 Red Raiders still have the same offensive firepower as days of old.

Nobody in the country has a better batting average than Tech (.362), and the advanced metrics point to an effective use of small ball. Its wRC+ of 143 ranks fourth nationally, though its 43 home runs fall outside the top 40 nationally.

New Mexico’s pitching staff isn’t very good, and the Lobos rely on their bats to win games.

While Tech’s pitching leaves much to be desired itself, I trust the Red Raiders far more in the elevation of Albuquerque if we get into a high-scoring game (the total is set at 18.5!).

On the other end of this parlay, we have Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons leaned on 15 runs to topple Clemson last week.

Since the last time Coastal beat Wake (in early March), freshman Daniel Parker moved off his starting role to come out of the bullpen. The Chants, already testing pitching depth with injuries, haven’t really nailed down a weeknight starter.

Struggling sophomore Jaxon Appelman (0-0, 7.56 ERA) will give it another go for Coastal tonight against Wake's Duncan Marsten (1-2, 4.55 ERA).

Marsten, a sophomore, allowed the only run last Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to High Point and took a disappointing loss on his record despite six punchouts in 4 1/3 innings of work.

Pick: Texas Tech + Wake Forest ML Parlay (+123)

If you’re not familiar with Lamar baseball, let me introduce you.

At a glance, 17-15 may not be anything to be excited about, but the Cardinals have played one of the toughest mid-major slates in the country.

They bring a four-game losing skid into this tilt, but those four losses came to TCU and Oregon State; they also dropped two other games to Texas and Texas A&M.

Removing the 0-6 Quad 1 results, Lamar is 17-9 and 10-5 in Southland play. It also touts an impressive 4-1 record against Quad 2 teams.

Senior Gage Burdick (0-1, 8.10 ERA) gets his fourth start of the year for Lamar after struggling to find the zone last week against TCU, issuing five walks.

He’s usually a short-term starter with high-end potential. Two midweeks ago, he held Tarleton State to one hit and struck out six batters in four innings.

Against Tulane's sub-average bats (93 wRC+), Burdick has a better chance of getting some quality innings in.

Tulane has played one game at home since March 26, and this game wraps up a four-game road trip. The Green Wave return home for a series against East Carolina this weekend.

Lamar rates out better in RPI, Diamond Sports Rating (DSR) and Massey, and catches runs at home. I’ll take the home underdog that has played the tougher schedule and performed better against teams in this quad tonight.

Pick: Lamar ML +140
