With the same five teams hovering around the top 15 of the AP poll throughout the season, there are plenty of worthy contenders in the mix for the Big Ten Regular Season Champion.

Despite taking a surprising loss to Wisconsin early in the conference season, the Michigan Wolverines are still heavy favorites to take home the conference title, although Illinois is lurking just behind the Wolverines.

Michigan and Illinois are both the highest-ranked contenders and the most likely to win the Big Ten, but multiple teams have started the season strong, even though they are still long shots to win the conference title.

Nebraska was one of the final five unbeaten teams in the country, and with a win over Michigan State and a season series split with Illinois already in hand, the Cornhuskers could still challenge for the title as well.

Meanwhile, Michigan State and Purdue are not too far behind that top three, and both of them play Michigan down the stretch. The Boilermakers and Spartans also play each other in a very important late-February clash.

Outside of the Big Ten's big five, who all have three or fewer losses and are ranked teams, the conference boasts three teams in the middle of the pack that would need a lot of help, but have the potential to finish very high in the standings. Wisconsin has a win over Michigan, UCLA has a win over Purdue, and Iowa still has home games against Purdue, Nebraska, and Michigan.

The final day of the Big Ten Regular Season is March 8, with Michigan State visiting Michigan to end the season.

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in all 50 states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections and even weather.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
