- Sharp action has been hitting tonight's Buffalo-Ohio matchup (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2) throughout the week.
- Sports Insights' Bet Signals reveal which way the smart money is going.
When Week 12 college football lines came out on Sunday evening, oddsmakers listed Buffalo as a one-point favorite on the road over Ohio.
The Bulls have been rolling. They've only lost once on the year, and are in the midst of a five-game winning streak.
Ohio, on the other hand, had been rolling until last Wednesday's loss to Miami of Ohio, which is still fresh in the minds of the 78% of bettors who the Bobcats in that game.
As a result, bettors are staying away from Ohio in tonight's matchup. In fact, 77% of bets in the game have come on Buffalo.
And according to our betting data, wiseguys have also made a play on this game.
Despite the support, however, the Bulls are now 2.5-point underdogs at just about every major sportsbook.
Ohio has drawn six Sports Insights Bet Signals — indications of market-wide line movement caused by sharp action — and has accounted for 27% of the money wagered on this game despite only 23% of bets.
While only a slight discrepancy, it's still an indication that bigger, and probably sharper, bettors are behind the Bobcats.
The question now shifts to how the line moves from here.
Because of the frequency at which games end in a margin of three points, anyone looking to tail the sharps might be better off locking themselves into a -2.5 wager rather than taking the chance of laying a full field goal if the line movement continues.
