NFL Week 5 Kalshi Picks

Kalshi lets traders buy contracts tied to a real-world outcome, like which team wins an NFL game. A contract's price moves with the crowd's view of the odds, so one trading near its ceiling reflects a strong consensus pick, while one closer to the middle signals more disagreement. Prices shift all week as injury reports and game news come in, which is why checking back before kickoff can matter.

Buccaneers vs. Cowboys

Tampa Bay opens Week 5 on a four-game skid, and head coach Todd Bowles has had to lean on undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels after Baker Mayfield dislocated his thumb against Minnesota. Dallas, by contrast, sits two games over .500 with Dak Prescott playing some of the best football of his career, even as the Cowboys' defense keeps giving games away late. The market gives Dallas a clear edge at home, and with Tampa Bay still breaking in a first-time starter on a short week, that lean looks like one of the safer trades on the board.

Eagles vs. Jaguars

Philadelphia crosses the Atlantic to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium still searching for its rhythm, while Jacksonville arrives as the AFC South's defending champion and a team that has turned London into something close to a home game. The Jaguars have the better record and a defense holding opponents under four yards a carry, and the market is leaning their way despite the Eagles' recent dominance in this series. Early international kickoffs always add a layer of uncertainty, which makes a Jaguars position at a reasonable price one of the week's more interesting trades.

49ers vs. Seahawks

San Francisco arrives unbeaten, but the market isn't buying it on the road. Seattle has won two of the teams' last 3 meetings, including a lopsided regular-season result and a tight divisional-round win in January, and the price reflects it: Seahawks are the preferred side despite the Niners' spotless record. With Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle both questionable for San Francisco, that recent history carries extra weight, and the gap between the Niners' record and their market price is exactly the kind of mismatch worth a trade.

Ravens vs. Falcons

Baltimore returns to Atlanta for the first time since Lamar Jackson's rookie season, this time under new head coach Jesse Minter, and the market still leans toward the home team for Sunday Night Football. That's despite a Jackson who looks sharper than he has in either of the last two injury-shortened years, safety Kyle Hamilton said this summer that Jackson looks "faster than before." If that form holds up, the home-field price on Atlanta looks like a gap worth trading against before kickoff.

Giants vs. Commanders

Washington's three losses have all come without a healthy Jayden Daniels, who dislocated his elbow in Week 2 and hasn't played since. Week 5 has been circled as a realistic return point, and the market is pricing in that possibility as much as it is the Commanders' 1-3 record. New York arrives in better form under first-year coach John Harbaugh, and quarterback Jaxson Dart has called Harbaugh someone he "couldn't think of a better coach" to play for. Until Daniels' status is confirmed, this line is really a trade on the quarterback report as much as on either team's record.

The Takeaway

Three of this week's 5 lines favor the team with the worse record: Seattle over an unbeaten 49ers team, Atlanta over a healthier Ravens squad, and Washington on the hope of a Daniels return. That kind of gap between the win-loss column and the market price is usually a sign the crowd knows something the record doesn't show yet, and it's worth a look before Sunday's games go final.
