  • Two games are in action tonight -- one in the East and one in the West -- and Nick Martin has a couple of player props to target.
  • First, he lines up a Maple Leafs star to hit his shots on goal prop.
  • Then, Martin fades Alex Pietrangelo in the Golden Knights-Oilers duel.

Auston Matthews Over 4.5 Shots on Goal -106

Leafs vs. Panthers

Toronto has consistently generated scoring opportunities at a high rate against the Panthers. As the Leafs look to avoid being swept in disastrous fashion, it seems like a safe bet for that to continue.

The Panthers' defensive play is not the reason they're likely headed to the Eastern Conference Finals. They have a great goaltender and can make you pay with their strong offensive play. They have allowed 33.53 shots against per 60 this postseason, which is the third-worst rate of all 16 playoff teams.

The Leafs have averaged 32.33 shots on goal per game so far.

Florida has had the right recipe of opportunistic goal scoring and elite goaltending to garner a three-game lead.

Both of those factors should continue tonight, which means the game script should favor the shots on goal props for the Leafs' stars.

The Leafs' top stars are under intense scrutiny for a lack of production in this series, and that's well warranted. Auston Matthews was notably bad in Game 3 and has yet to break through with a goal.

It's reasonable to think that he brings a better performance tonight and finds a way to put a lot of attempts on goal.

It didn't help that the Leafs as a whole were lifeless in Game 3. In particular, Mitch Marner was dreadful.

Matthews had 12 shots in the first two games coming from a ridiculous total of 22 attempts on goal. I believe we'll see him go out firing in tonight's matchup, and Florida is still gettable defensively.

-106 is a good number for Matthews to record over 4.5 shots on goal in this spot.

Backing William Nylander to record over 3.5 shots on goal is another very solid option.

Alex Pietrangelo Under 2.5 Shots on Goal -143

Golden Knights vs. Oilers

Edmonton should be able to bounce back and play better defensively in this matchup. It has thoroughly proven its defensive capabilities over the last two months, and Game 3's embarrassing performance was an anomaly.

It's logical to expect less offensive zone time and attempts on goal for the Knights on Wednesday.

Edmonton has taken 14 minor penalties in the opening three matchups. That's an abnormally high mark and on top of that, penalty totals tend to trend downwards deeper into series', in general.

Less penalties from the Oilers and less offensive zone time for the Knights are factors that work in favor of Alex Pietrangelo, as he should come in under 2.5 shots on goal.

He's spent a wealth of time on the man advantage in the opening three matchups, which has helped contribute to his total of seven shots on goal.

Pietrangelo ranks 14th on the Knights with just 9.11 shot attempts per 60 minutes this postseason. He plays the most minutes of any Vegas skater, but even still, his playoff shot totals have been boosted by an abnormally high amount of shot attempts reaching goal.
