2019-2020 Premier League Odds: Manchester City Odds-On Favorites to Win Another Title

For the second season in a row, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will enter Matchweek 1 as odds-on favorites to win the English Premier League title.

The Cityzens are -200 to lift the trophy at the Westgate SuperBook, implying that City have a 66.7% chance to win the title when you convert their odds to implied probability.

City narrowly edged Liverpool to win the title by one point last May and oddsmakers clearly think that this season will be headlined by another two-horse race, as Liverpool is the only team remotely close to City in the market. Jurgen Klopp's side are +225 (30.8% implied probability) to win the league, something Liverpool has not done since 1989-90.

There's a quite a drop in price between the top two and third-favorites Tottenham at 16-1. Spurs enter this season coming off a tremendous campaign that saw them finish third in the Premier League and runners-up in the Champions League.

Three big teams in transition — Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United — are longshots to keep pace with City and Liverpool but will be fighting for a spot in the top four in what should be transition seasons.

Every team below the "Big Six" would need some sort of a miracle to contend, but the Premier League is no strangers to sporting phenomenon. In 2015-16 the league title was won by Leicester City, a 5,000-1 longshot, in what remains one of the biggest underdog stories in the history of sport.

The Foxes will enter this season with 200-1 odds for the title, lumping them with fellow mid-tier teams Everton and Wolverhampton.

As far as relegation odds, newcomers Sheffield United lead the way. The Blades are -143 to go right back down to the Championship, meaning the odds suggest they have a 58.9% chance to get relegated.

Norwich City have the second-shortest relegation odds at even money while Brighton & Hove Albion (+160) are the most-likely team from last season's Premier League to get the ax.

The 2019-20 English Premier League campaign kicks off on Friday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. ET with Norwich City vs. Liverpool.
