The EPL Weekend Coupon: Manchester City aim for 11 straight

Can anyone catch Manchester City? That's the big question as we hurdle toward the acid test of any aspiring EPL champion, the December fixture list.

Many a title charge has been ignited, or been snuffed out, during the chaotic month of December, so the final weekend of action in November offers the opportunity for the chasing pack to pick up some much-needed momentum as they look to overhaul the EPL's runaway leaders over the festive period.

Manchester United (-550) know nothing less than victory will do when they entertain Brighton at Old Trafford, while Tottenham (-380) will be looking to bounce back from their London Derby defeat at Arsenal when they play host to manager-less West Brom at Wembley.

The game of the weekend takes place at Anfield, where another of the preseason title favorites, Chelsea (+230), takes on a Liverpool side that seem to be clicking up front but still showing gaping holes in their defense. Their 3-3 Champions League draw at Sevilla (after they led 3-0) is all the proof you need of the Reds' strengths and weaknesses right now.

And, once all the main protagonists have had their say on Saturday, Manchester City will have the chance to stamp their dominance over the weekend when they look to register their 11th straight EPL win when they travel to Huddersfield Town.

Here's the full match list for this weekend's action, along with some preliminary thoughts on where the value may lie among the fixtures this weekend.

Friday November 24

West Ham United (+170)Draw (+225)Leicester City (+155)

Saturday November 25

Crystal Palace (EVEN)Draw (+225)Stoke City (+290)
Manchester United (-550)Draw (+600)Brighton & Hove Albion (+1900)
Newcastle United (+115)Draw (+225)Watford (+250)
Swansea City (+170)Draw (+215)Bournemouth (+165)
Tottenham Hotspur (-380)Draw (+475)West Bromwich Albion (+1200)
Liverpool (+115)Draw (+250)Chelsea (+230)

Sunday November 26

Southampton (-125)Draw (+240)Everton (+365)
Burnley (+500)Draw (+330)Arsenal (-180)
Huddersfield Town (+1300)Draw (+600)Manchester City (-525)

Finding the value:

  • After turning their own poor form around with a 2-0 win against West Ham, Watford look decent value to come away from St James' Park with something. Newcastle have lost their last three on the spin – their worst run of form under manager Rafa Benitez.
  • Manchester City are rampant right now, and are -115 to beat a -2 spread at Huddersfield. Given their prolific form in front of goal, that looks like value to me.
  • Bournemouth have won their last two and are available at odds-against to defeat Swansea (who have lost their last four) at the Liberty Stadium. That'll do nicely. If you're worried about the draw, the Cherries are -105 on a level (pick) spread.
