Barcelona comes into this matchup with Bayern Munich needing three points to guarantee its progression into the UCL knockout stage. Because of this, I believe we'll see an intense Barcelona squad that knows the importance of the meeting, particularly considering its poor position in the La Liga table.

That doesn't mean the Catalan club won't be engaging with one of the most lethal teams in the competition. Though Bayern has already secured its spot as a seeded team in the knockout stage, it'll likely have a serious amount of firepower in the lineup.

This includes a midfield that has far more pace than Barcelona. And I feel as though that could result in a possible tactical decision needing to be made by Sergio Busquets, who is one of Barcelona's most senior players. The defensive midfielder will be willing to concede a card if it helps his team and against Bayern he might have to do so.

Busquets hasn't picked up a card in the UCL action this year, but he's recorded a team high of four in the Spanish top flight. I see value on this prop, given the players that Busquets is going to have to deal with on the German side.

Atalanta vs. Villarreal

The PickAtalanta — Over 2.5 Goals (+200)

Only a win will be enough to get the Bergamo-based side through to the UCL knockout stage and Atalanta has found its form heading into the match.

The team scored three in its last UCL match with Young Boys, but it followed that up with two wins on the bounce against Juventus and Venezia. In the latter, Atalanta blasted four into the net in a dominant performance.

Though Villarreal has a stout back line that has only conceded seven goals through five games, the Yellow Submarine has yielded 1.59 xGA per game away from home in the competition. Atalanta is more than capable of turning up with a high-level performance in a key spot, as we've seen in years past.

Back Atalanta to continue its run of energetic outings in this crucial match.

In another possible group-deciding matchup, Wolfsburg hosts Lille. The German outfit is being given far too much credit by bookmakers in regard to its offensive firepower.

Thus far in the Champions League, Wolfsburg has only scored four goals with an average of 0.42 xG/game, meaning that number isn't even harsh on the Wolves. Additionally, Wolfsburg has only scored two goals in one of its past six matches. This isn't a team that has a crazy offensive threat any time it takes the pitch.

Not only does Wolfsburg struggle on the attack, Lille has been composed and efficient in defense throughout the group stage. The French team has only conceded three goals in five games while allowing 0.85 xGA/outing. There's no reason to believe that Les Dogues will suddenly combust under pressure.

Expect trends to continue and Lille to contain an offense that it should have no problems with in this affair.
