West Ham host Everton in what already feels like a season-defining match between two teams at the bottom of the table in London Stadium on Saturday morning.

Frank Lampard and David Moyes are both well-known names in Premier League circles, but this season all of the press they have received has been for negative reasons.

Both their sides currently sit in the relegation zone with 15 apiece. The manager that loses this match may not be around to coach the following weekend.

Here is our breakdown of the West Ham vs. Everton odds, and my pick for Saturday.

West Ham Need a Change in Fortune

Not many predicted West Ham would be where they are in the table at this point in the season, given their success over the last couple of years. Last season, the Hammers were in the final four for the UEFA Europa League and are currently in the Round of 16 in this year's UEFA Europa Conference League.

However, their play in the EPL so far has been woeful. Over their last 10 league outing, they have just one win and goal difference of -8. Though the Hammers have been poor this season, some their negative results can be pinned on bad luck.

This season, Moyes' side has just 15 in 19 league games (tied for second worst in the EPL). If you take a step back, though, you see that maybe their offense has not been as poor as it seems. United have accumulated 23.4 xG this season, giving them a goal-xG difference of -8.4, making them the unluckiest team in the league thus far.

Perhaps we don't see a change in fortunes occur this weekend, as West Ham haven't recorded a point at home since late October, but it is safe to assume that positive regression is on the horizon for the Hammers.

Everton Need a Decide Who They Are

Lampard survived relegation last season, which was good enough to earn him another managerial year. Rather than improving in his second season in charge, the team is showing a slight decrease in their quality of play.

Last season the Toffees averaged 1.03 points per match and had an xGD per 90 on -0.35. This season, they have recorded less than a point per match (0.79) and have an xGD per 90 of -0.60, both of which are second worst in the league.

They are struggling to get production up top, scoring just 15 goals in their 19 games this season. That said, much of that plan for their lack of attacking production could be due to the style of play. Everton are far below average in their speed of play (1.25) and in their passes per sequence (3.1), making them extremely easy to defend.

Given their dire need of a win this weekend, Lampard will need to decide whether he wants to play fast and direct or slow and intricate because being in between at the moment is clearly not the answer.

West Ham vs. Everton Prediction

Neither West Ham nor Everton deserve to be favorites given their recent form. Over the last seven matches, these sides have picked up just three points combined.

And with this match being a true six-pointer in every sense, given their positions in the table, both managers will be pushing to collect points.

So, rather than backing a side in a toss-up match, take advantage of the desperation within the locker rooms and wager on both teams to score.

Pick:  Both Teams to Score – Yes (-105 via DraftKings)
