- Argentina: Argentina has locked up the top spot in the group.
- Austria: Austria can clinch second in the group with a win or a draw against Algeria. Austria is at risked of getting knocked out in third place with a big loss.
- Algeria: Algeria can clinch second in the group with a win over Austria, or third and advancement with a draw. An Algerian loss by 1 goal means they are almost surely out, and a loss by 2-plus goals guarantees elimination.
- Jordan: Jordan is locked into last in the group.
World Cup Group J Futures
It's so hard to gauge anything with Algeria and Austria because of the situation. That means we should look at Argentina who have a nice path through to the quarterfinals. My model has them just over 80% to make it compared to -360 odds at FanDuel, so there's some thin value there.
From there, they would meet either Colombia or Portugal if the bracket ends up chalky to get to the semifinals. Since my model is high on Colombia, that's where the value ends.
Unless you want to bet on a -360, this is a pass.
