Dream vs. Sky Preview

The Sky face off against the Dream for a Wednesday matinee in Chicago.

The biggest news revolves around the injuries for both of these teams.

Rhyne Howard (knee) is out through at least July and for the Sky, both Ariel Atkins (leg) and Angel Reese (leg) are being held out of this game.

Reese has been on fire and is the best rebounder in the WNBA.

Her absence will be felt but it’s possible for the Sky to try and replicate some of her contributions.

Kamilla Cardoso is the primary candidate to see an uptick on the glass; however, this line of 9.5 rebounds has clearly accounted for that potential uptick.

She’s recorded double digit rebounds just twice this season and even without Reese, she was just 2/4 on this line last season.

For the Dream, Britney Griner and Jordin Canada both see significant Usage jumps along with Alisha Gray to a lesser extent. Canada’s scoring skyrockets by 11 points per 100 and Griner’s by 8, per pbpstats.

Canada has been awesome lately with an uptick in her minutes. She’s played more than 30 minutes in 5 of her last 6 games and 26+ in all of those 6.

When she’s played 25+ minutes this season, she’s averaged 26.5 PRA and that’s climbed to 30.5 in two games without Howard.

She should get plenty of opportunity today and her PRA line of 23.5 is too low against a Sky team that was bottom of the barrel before Angel Reese started her hot streak.

Dream vs. Sky Prediction

The Dream should be able to take care of the Sky today. And I expect Jordin Canada to play a major part in that.

I’ll grab her PRA line and sprinkle Double Double (+600 FanDuel/DraftKings).

Best Bets: Jordin Canada Over 23.5 PRA (-132) and to Record a Double Double (+600)
