Barcelona Prediction

Barcelona is fresh off beating Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final. They also lead LaLiga and are four points clear of Los Blancos with just four games left.

Hansi Flick's team remains the class of the field in Europe, having won 24 of their past 30 games. They have just one defeat — a 3-1 loss to Dortmund in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinals tie — since December 2024.

A big part of it has been forward Lamine Yamal. The La Masia graduate is only the fourth teenager to score five goals in the Champions League in one season, with only Erling Haaland (10 in 2019-20), Kylian Mbappe (six in 2016-17) and Raul (six in 1995-96) managing more.

The Blaugranas are so close to a treble that they must already be smelling it. However, history hasn't always been kind. Barcelona has lost their past four Champions League semifinal away games and are 1-5 against Inter at San Siro.

Flick has plenty of talent to choose from, regardless. On Saturday, German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen returned to the starting 11 in their 2-1 win over last-placed Real Valladolid. He has missed seven months due to a knee injury.

Still, defenders Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are confirmed out, both with hamstring problems, while striker Robert Lewandowski is in doubt for the starting 11 after a similar issue.

Inter Prediction

Simone Inzaghi's Inter had many doubters backtracking when they raced to a 2-0 lead in the first leg in Barcelona. Even when they eventually tied 3-3, they proved their point — that no team should underestimate them.

Three points behind Serie A leaders Napoli with just three games to go, it may be that a Champions League title is all Inter has left to play for after crashing out of the Coppa Italia semifinals with a 3-0 defeat to city rivals AC Milan in April.

Far from the defensive outset that many predicted, the Nerazzurri looked to trade blows with Barcelona, and could've easily emerged from the Catalan capital with a win.

Still, defense is the name of the game for Inter. The Nerazzurri conceded just 0.62 goals per Champions League game per BettingExpert, the least of any team except Liverpool. In their path to the semis, Inter conceded just five times and kept eight clean sheets.

But that's about where the good news ends for the Nerazzurri. Top goalscorer Lautaro Martínez had to be subbed off at halftime of the first leg with a muscle problem and is still very much in doubt for this game.

Martinez, who has yet to return to full training, missed Inter's 1-0 victory over Verona on Saturday. The win snapped Inter's five-game winless streak, but also showed their scoring struggles without the Argentine.

Barcelona vs. Inter Pick

The first leg demonstrated very little between these two, but it's a mistake to say there is no difference in class. Inter are a well-drilled team, and with Martínez on his game, they may even be one of the best teams in Europe, but Barcelona are still one step ahead.
The Blaugran will have learned their lesson not to underestimate Inter, but will still look to win the series. In what could be the match that crowns Lamine Yamal as the definitive Lionel Messi heir, I'll back Barcelona to show that while it might not be a gulf, there's still a gap between these teams.
