What better way to celebrate the launch of legal mobile sports betting in the state of New York than by betting on the local team’s games?
Whether you hate the Knicks or love the Nets, can’t stand what the Giants are doing or think the Jets are on the right path, plenty of New York teams are in action this weekend. That makes for a great launch for New York, the latest state to legalize mobile sports betting in the country.
Mobile sports betting goes live in New York on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. local time. Bettors don’t have to wait long to find a way to get in on the action.
After picking your app of choice — DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars and BetRivers will be live — and claiming your bonus, here are the schedule and odds for the local professional teams this weekend.
Saturday, January 8 Schedule & Odds for New York Teams
The New York Knicks travel to Boston to take on the Celtics at 7:30 p.m. ET, which will be televised on NBATV. It will be the first New York game of the day.
The Knicks are 6.5-point underdogs with a total of 208 (real-time odds here). The Action Network’s preview and betting pick can be found here.
The only other New York professional team playing Saturday is the Rangers, who list the Anaheim Ducks at 10 p.m. ET.

The Sabres and Islanders are both scheduled, but their games are officially postponed and won’t be played on Saturday.

The hockey teams are off, but the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, New York Jets and Brooklyn Nets are all in action on Sunday.
The Brooklyn Nets get things started at home against the San Antonio Spurs beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Odds were not posted as of Friday night, but they’ll be listed here as soon as they’re live.
Otherwise, it’s all about the NFL.
