Poor planning on the part of the PGA Tour has put us in a position in which we are still determining if this tournament will end Sunday, Monday or after 54 holes.

In my opinion, Sunday isn't likely to receive any action because of the 50-60+ MPH gusts in the forecast. That isn't the tournament-ending possibility since getting everyone back out there Monday is a simple enough solution in a normal situation. However, the problem starts to come into play because of the substantial downpour in the forecast, which adds to the outlook Monday since Pebble Beach has been called a course that "can't receive any more rain" by multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation.

I'd still call this anyone's guess on what happens over the next 24-48 hours, but just let it be known that I will very publicly be rooting for no more action since I have a Wyndham Clark outright ticket at 100/1 from pre-event and three additional wagers that are all currently cashing if the event is halted and declared done.

Running well can sometimes come from more than just the wagers you make, so with that answer in mind, I will use up my yearly one-time here in 2024 to get a canceled tournament that awards Clark the winner and add to the short (but remarkable) run we have gotten when backing him in the outright market since 2017.

If you haven't already, you can find me on Twitter (@TeeOffSports). There, I provide a link to my pre-tournament model, a powerful and interactive data spreadsheet that allows user input to create custom golf rankings. That sheet is released every Monday, so be sure to check it out and construct your own numbers from my database of information.

2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

For those of you out there who want to research an event that may or may not be finished, here is where the strokes gained data sits at Pebble Beach after two of the three rounds have taken place at the course.

Strokes Gained Off-The-Tee

As you will see in a second when diving into the approach metrics, it was another week of superb ball-striking but no putting from Tony Finau. I typically think that is the recipe for a win that could be trending. We will see if the putter ever heats up here in 2024.

Strokes Gained Approach

I am not just saying this because I am a fan of Jason Day, but the 2.38 shots he gained over two rounds at Pebble should be viewed as very encouraging for his future outlook. I've always said that if the irons can return to where they were a few years ago, Day still has major championship potential in his bag.

Strokes Gained Around-The-Green

Make it 3-for-3 when diving into the top 15 of the categories for Justin Thomas. I am unsure what happened to him in 2023, but his game has returned to his vintage form.

Strokes Gained Putting

While Clark did gain an absurd number of shots with the putter, we are still looking at one of the steadier producers across the board. We can dive into that in the next section.

Golfers To Land Top 25 In All Four Areas

That's it. That is the list.

Even if Clark has been steady enough to get the job done in the final round, it never hurts to root for things to end early when it benefits your wager…
