  • We're back to a big slate of baseball, with 15 Saturday games.
  • We're picking the over/under on strikeout props for the Twins' Jake Odorizzi and the Pirates' Trevor Williams.

Yesterday was a solid day in the wonderful world of props. Marco Estrada lived up to the lack-of-strikeout-hype by only K-ing three men, going under his total of 3.5. Unfortunately, Ross Stripling pushed his total of 5 in an annoying fashion, as he was pulled with one out in the sixth inning despite allowing no runs, having nobody on base at the time and throwing fewer than 80 pitches. All of this was seemingly to get a left-on-left matchup vs. David Peralta, who's solid, but he's no Babe Ruth. Let the hot hand ride next time, Davey!

A few other highly rated strikeout props in the MLB Player Props Tool also hit, so be sure to check that page out later in the day when the nighttime props are released.

Here are a couple of early props for today's slate:

  • Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins: 2:10 p.m. ET
  • Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds: 2:10 p.m. ET

Our FantasyLabs MLB Player Props Tool leverages our projections against odds offered at various sportsbooks and grades each prop on a scale of 1 to 10. All odds as of 12:15 p.m. ET. View live odds here.

Twins SP Jake Odorizzi

THE PICK: Over 5 strikeouts (-115)

I feel very bad for the folks that have to play baseball in Minnesota this afternoon, as temperatures will struggle to reach even 35 degrees. The over/under has already fallen from 8 runs to 7 since opening, as this is certainly no weather for an offensive outburst.

That should mean pitchers allow fewer runs and stay in the game longer, which should bode well for the over on their strikeout props. The best prop for the afternoon slate is Jake Odorizzi's.

With an over/under of 5, he could definitely bring us our third push in three days, but we're projecting him for 7.4 Ks — 44% higher than his implied odds.

Hopefully his fingers don't freeze up on him, but he shouldn't have too much trouble against this new-look (and worse) Indians lineup.

Pirates SP Trevor Williams

THE PICK: Under 4 strikeouts (+110)

I love me some plus-money props. At under 4 (+110), Trevor Williams of the Pirates fits the bill.

To be honest with you, this bad boy may never have a chance to cash. There's a possibility of postponement thanks to rainy weather in Cincinnati, but that could actually further help our under if the game is played.

We're projecting 3.4 strikeouts for Williams, but that doesn't factor in the rain. If the game starts, has a lengthy rain delay and then resumes, Williams might get the hook earlier than expected. It's our second-best play so far regardless of that, but it makes me like it even more.
