I'll be backing a trio of hitters for my Tuesday MLB player props: Spencer Steer, Kyle Stowers, and Cody Bellinger.
Additionally, Logan Henderson will look for a quality start against the Orioles in his third career outing.
Let's dive into my MLB player props and Major League Baseball picks for Tuesday, May 20.
MLB Props and Picks for May 20, 2025
- Spencer Steer/Kyle Stowers One Hit Parlay (+152, Fanatics)
- Cody Bellinger Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135, Fanatics)
- Logan Henderson 15+ Outs Recorded (-125, DraftKings)
Cubs vs Marlins and Reds vs Pirates Player Props: Two-Game Parlay
Two of the first games of today's slate are Reds vs Pirates and Cubs vs Marlins, featuring two very hot hitters in Spencer Steer and Kyle Stowers.
Steer is on an eight-game hitting streak, posting a .321 average, two doubles, a home run, and a .891 OPS during the stretch.
Considering his history against Bailey Falter, I'm betting that streak continues.
Steer is 7-for-14 with two doubles, a home run, four RBIs, and a 1.445 OPS lifetime against the left-hander.
Meanwhile, among qualified MLB pitchers, Falter ranks 19th percentile in Hard Hit rate allowed (46%) and 33rd in Average Exit Velocity allowed (90.2 mph).
Stowers is not far behind with a seven-game hitting streak of his own. Four games have come against the Cubs, and he faces Jameson Taillon again on Tuesday.
Last Wednesday, Stowers took Taillon deep twice, and he is up to 10 home runs with a .303 average this season. He is slashing .391/.440/.957 during his hitting streak.
Steer and Stowers have solid odds on their own for hits, but aren't quite playable as straight bets. By combining them, we get a nice price of +152 on Fanatics.
Rangers vs Yankees Player Props: Excellent Matchup for Bellinger
Typically, Patrick Corbin is a pitcher I have looked to fade over the last few years.
This year, the veteran left-hander has been solid, with a 3.35 ERA in seven starts with the Rangers.
However, he must deal with a formidable Yankees lineup on the road on Tuesday.
Cody Bellinger is one Yankees hitter who has given him fits over the years.
Bellinger is 9-for-23 (.391) lifetime with a double and two RBI against Corbin. Since 2021, he has gone 6-for-12 against him despite Corbin having the platoon advantage.
Corbin may continue to struggle against Bellinger since the Yankees player is hitting .387 against left-handers this season.
Bellinger has gotten hot recently, slashing .351/.422/.632 with four home runs and 12 RBI in May.
He enters tonight's game riding a 13-game hitting streak. On Sunday, he helped the Yankees clinch the Subway Series with an eighth-inning grand slam against the Mets.
Additionally, Bellinger has four doubles in his past five games. He has cleared this line in eight of his past nine games.
Against Corbin, I will have to back him once again.
Orioles vs Brewers Player Props: Back Henderson to Last
This season, the Brewers have just 10 quality starts of their 48 games played.
Ace Freddy Peralta has a 2.59 ERA, and Jose Quintana has a 2.65 ERA, although he is currently on the IL with shoulder impingement.
The team also recently optioned Tobias Myers to Triple-A.
Logan Henderson may be the team's breakout rookie pitcher this season. The former fourth-round pick is currently the #12 prospect in the Brewers organization.
He earned his call-up to Milwaukee after going 5-1 with a 2.40 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 30 Triple-A innings. He made six appearances, five of which were starts, averaging five innings per appearance.
His success has translated so far.
Henderson worked six innings in his MLB debut against the Athletics and followed it up with five innings against the Guardians. Through the two starts, he has allowed just seven hits, three earned runs, and has fanned 16 batters.
We don't need a gem from him today to get to five innings. Although it certainly would not hurt, and it may be in the cards anyway against Baltimore.
The Orioles were expected to be one of the best offenses in baseball, reasonable for a lineup featuring Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, and Jackson Holliday, among others.
However, they rank 25th in wRC+ among MLB lineups over the past 15 days. They also have scored one run or fewer through the first five innings in three straight games and four of their past five.
If that happens again, Henderson will likely work five innings and get to 15 outs again.
He has averaged 77.5 pitches through his first two starts, so about 15 pitches per inning should get him there.
