With the Super Bowl in the books, it's time to begin another college baseball season.

First pitch will come this weekend for nearly every Division I school, with a top-25 clash between Texas Tech and Tennessee set at Globe Life Field.

The Red Raiders and Volunteers represent the lone top-25 matchup, but there's plenty of intrigue around the country, including a Scottsdale showdown between Kansas State and California, as well as defending national champion LSU kicking off its season at Alex Box Stadium.

College baseball coaches often keep starting pitcher information close to the vest, while others look to have a Friday and Saturday rotation down before conference play.

This weekly article will look at the biggest series of the weekend and present projections for potential pitching matchups. We'll take a look at a combination of each team's top two projected starters and their potential baseline spread and total.

For the first month of the season, projections will be based on numbers from the 2023 season. Once a starting pitcher racks up four starts and a finds clearly defined role, the ERA, FIP and xFIP help determine a projected spread.

The total is based on the same numbers, along with calculated base runs and park factors.
