Tennessee vs Vanderbilt College Basketball Betting Preview

I project the Commodores as 3.4-point favorites over Tennessee, so I’m looking to play Vandy at a cheap moneyline price (anything under -120).

It’s worth noting that the SEC Tournament is being held in Nashville, giving the Commodores a significant home-court advantage. It’s also worth noting that Vandy earned the last double-bye as the four-seed, so the Commodores will also have a rest advantage.

These two teams won on each other’s home courts this season, but Vanderbilt held a double-digit lead in both matchups.

I trust Vandy to keep Tennessee off the offensive glass, and given the Vols’ first-shot offense is a mess — even with a now-healthy Nate Ament — I’m not sure if that’ll be enough to go toe-to-toe with Mark Byington’s electric attack.

Rick Barnes-led defenses are always tough to crack, but Vandy dropped 86 in the most recent head-to-head meeting. The Commodores can score on anyone, and I’m banking on them scoring enough to reach the SEC Tournament semi-finals.

My Pick: Vanderbilt ML
