Oregon State vs Tulsa Pick

This total is far too high.

Oregon State is off a gut-wrenching loss to Sam Houston last week, which was really embarrassing.

Since Robb Akey took over as the interim head coach, Oregon State’s defense has played much better, allowing only 233 yards per game at four yards per play. The secondary has played excellently, allowing only two passing touchdowns alongside four interceptions.

Tulsa ranks 82nd nationally in Explosiveness and 96th in Finishing Drives. The Golden Hurricane want to run the football, and they should do it on Saturday with their leading receiver, Zion Booker, likely out. We should see plenty of Dominic Richardson.

Tulsa’s defense has faced an elite passing attack in each of the past three weeks, against East Carolina, Temple, and FAU. Things should be much easier this week against Gabarri Johnson, who looked better last week but still missed some wide-open receivers and didn’t look good in the second half.

The weather also doesn’t look good. We’re likely to see heavy rain and wind, which should affect passing and place-kicking.

I’m expecting a low-scoring grinder.

Pick: Under 48.5 or Better
