Oregon State Beavers Football
The Beavers managed to play seven games last season, more than any other team in the Pac-12. Unfortunately for head coach Jonathan Smith’s team, they won only two of them. It was the third-straight losing campaign for the coach and the seventh overall for the Beavers, who are hoping to turn over a new leaf in the fall.
Oddsmakers don’t think the return to glory will be happening this season, though, with a pessimistic 4.5-game win total (on 12 games) set by most books heading into the season.

Oregon State Beavers Point Spreads
Betting on point spreads is one of the most popular ways to bet on college football. Point spreads are bets on the margin of victory in a game, which help to make bets on either team interesting even when one team is expected to be much better. Fortunately for Beavers bettors, Oregon State did well against-the-spread last season with a 4-3 record.
Here’s an example of a Beavers spread:
- Oregon State +13 (-110)
- Oregon -13 (-110)
With a 31-21 victory for Oregon, the Beavers are still winners against the spread because their margin of defeat (10) is less than the spread. Oregon has to win by at least 14 points to cover, while a 13-point win is a tie in the eyes of bookmakers. In that latter case, bettors on both sides are refunded their stakes.
Oregon State Beavers Over/Unders
The Beavers were not kind to under bettors last season, allowing the over to hit at a 71% rate. Over/unders, also known as totals, are bets on how many points will be scored in a game; you can bet over or under on an individual team's point output as well.
For example, books might set the total in the Beavers' game against Oregon at 62 points. If the game finished 42-21, over bettors are winners, while under bettors would win with 61 or fewer points scored. Which team wins doesn't matter — only the total number of points on the final scoreboard.
Oregon State Beavers Moneylines
With a 2-5 record in 2020, you might wonder why anybody would bet the Beavers moneyline — these are bets on who will win the game outright — and for good reason. The reason is that bets on the team less likely to win, the underdog, pay out more than bets on the favorite.
Against Oregon, the Beavers might be +365 underdogs. In that situation, a $100 bet would be worth a $365 profit if they pulled off the upset. On the other hand, in a situation that saw them as -365 favorites, you’d have to risk $365 to make a $100 gain in the event of a win.
Oregon State Beavers Props
If you use fantasy football as a way to stay interested in games even when your team’s prospects are bleak, another option is betting on player props. Just like fantasy points, player props are about single player stats at the end of the game.
Some Beavers props you could make in 2021 include odds on WR Silas Bolden to find the end zone, over/unders on RB Deshaun Fenwick's rushing yards, and bets on who will score the first points of the game.
Oregon State Beavers Futures
The Beavers aren’t very well-regarded in the futures market, where they’re currently being given just a 1-in-40 chance to win the Pac-12 in 2020 — the second-lowest odds in the conference.
This type of a bet, a future, is just a wager that takes place over more than just one game, usually a full season. Other Oregon State futures for 2021 include over/under on its total wins for the season and odds on certain players to win positional awards.
