Tulsa vs FAU Preview
FAU hasn’t shown me anything to make me believe in the Owls. The offense is so jerky, requires too many fourth-down conversions, and is overly reliant on Easton Messer to move the ball.
If Veltkamp isn’t connecting with Messer, or if the Owls fail on fourth down, they set their opponents up nicely with short fields. It’s too high-risk, high-reward for me, not to mention they’re horrific in red-zone efficiency.
That can be a serious issue in these high-variance coin-flip games.
Meanwhile, Tulsa has been playing good football lately, hanging with East Carolina and Temple over the past few weeks. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Baylor Haynes, who’s thrown for 550 yards and five scores with no picks over the past two games.
Pick: Tulsa ML (+150, bet365)
