Penn State vs. Northwestern Prediction: Penn State to Win

Penn State is my favorite of Friday's best college football bets despite coming off a 24-20 loss to Wisconsin in which it gave away a 10-point fourth-quarter lead and finished with only 233 yards of offense.
The Penn State vs. Northwestern matchup up front gives the Nittany Lions a chance to respond. Northwestern ranks 127th nationally in yards per rush, while quarterback Aidan Chiles has been sacked at one of the highest rates in the country. That sets up poorly against a Penn State defense that leads the nation in third-down defense.
Northwestern is also without center Ezomo Oratokhai, and two starting defensive backs are listed as doubtful. The Wildcats want to create offense through the air, but Penn State has allowed only two passing touchdowns while intercepting five passes.
Northwestern has the home-field angle in a new Ryan Field, but 55¢ is a reasonable price for a prediction market contract on the team I expect to control the line of scrimmage.
Pitt vs. Virginia Tech prediction: Virginia Tech to Win

Virginia Tech gets Pitt at Lane Stadium in James Franklin's first meeting with the Panthers since taking over in Blacksburg.
Pitt quarterback Mason Heintschel hasn't thrown a touchdown pass against a Power 4 opponent yet. The Panthers also rank in the 31st percentile in rushing explosiveness and the 27th percentile in passing explosiveness, limiting their ability to make up ground with big plays.
Virginia Tech entered the season fourth nationally in returning production and gets this matchup at home, while Pitt is playing its first road game of the year.
At 62¢, the Hokies are my preferred side in Pitt vs. Virginia Tech.
Liberty vs. Delaware: Liberty to Win

Liberty enters Friday at 3-1 after three straight wins, including a 34-17 victory over Coastal Carolina.
Quarterback Deshawn Purdie has 779 passing yards and seven touchdowns, while Da'Shawn Martin ranks second in Conference USA with 379 receiving yards and five scores.
Delaware is 2-2 and coming off a 42-3 loss at Virginia. Nick Minicucci has thrown for 838 yards and five touchdowns, while Blake Matthews has 4.5 sacks, but the Blue Hens struggled badly in their latest step up in competition.
Delaware gets a sold-out home crowd for Parents and Family Weekend, but Liberty is still the side I prefer in this Liberty vs. Delaware matchup.
