Chiefs vs Lions Preview, Parlay Picks

Lions Moneyline

This line held steady throughout the week, and it's a testament to the Chiefs' home-field advantage — but it also shows that the Lions are the side you want tonight.
Detroit should be able to control this matchup with its rushing attack. The Lions run the ball at the third-highest rate in the NFL, and the Chiefs are 26th in yards per rush allowed.
However, the Lions' passing attack is in a good spot as well. Jared Goff ranks first in completion percentage and seventh in yards per pass; Kansas City ranks 21st in completion percentage allowed and 13th in yards per pass.
These edges are only amplified by the Lions' play in the trenches. Their offensive line has been great, and Kansas City's defense has shown plenty of holes this season.

Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown

Building off the Lions' plan of attack highlighted above, Jahmyr Gibbs is the focal point of their offense.
Gibbs is a dynamic rusher, but has also proven to be a real weapon in the passing game. His versatility makes him extremely tough to stop in the red zone, and the Lions have shown they will take advantage of that.
Gibbs has scored five times already this season, and he averages 4.6 red-zone rushing attempts and one red-zone target per game.
The Lions are going to get into the end zone multiple times in this one, and Gibbs is the strongest pick to find paydirt.

Patrick Mahomes Over 36.5 Pass Attempts

Switching sides here, the Chiefs have kept the ball in Patrick Mahomes' hands a ton this season as they've thrown the ball over 60 percent of the time. Their pass rate should only be amplified by a trailing game script in this matchup.
Mahomes has averaged 36.6 pass attempts per game this season, and teams have thrown the ball over 60 percent of the time against the Lions through five games.
All signs point to Mahomes possibly dropping back to pass 40 times in this game.

Isaiah Pacheco Under 41.5 Rushing+ Receiving Yards

This game script hurts Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco the most.
Pacheco is already No.2 in a rushing timeshare with Kareem Hunt, but last week we saw rookie Brashard Smith make his presence felt as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
It's looking more likely that Pacheco will be the odd man out in this matchup if the Chiefs trail. His only role is an early down back, and Detroit has been tough on opposing running backs.
The Lions are sixth in rushing yards allowed and 11th in receiving yards allowed to running backs. With Pacheco's opportunities decreasing, he may need a big play to get over this total.
