Commanders vs Broncos Preview, Parlay Picks

The Broncos and Commanders will clash from our nation's capital tonight.

Denver comes into the contest with a 9-3 record. Sean Payton’s team has won eight consecutive games and holds a commanding lead in the AFC West.

Washington has had a nightmare season after reaching the NFC Championship last year. The Commanders enter this game with a 3-8 record. Injuries have derailed the Commanders' season as they will be without quarterback Jayden Daniels once again.

We see two teams headed in completely different directions at the moment.

As mentioned, Denver has won eight consecutive games while the Commanders' season is over with nothing to play for at this point.

Plus, Denver’s defense ranks third in points allowed per game (17.5).

I expect this shorthanded Commanders offense led by Marcus Mariota to struggle throughout the contest and for Denver to roll to a comfortable cover.

The Commanders enter this game 3-8 against the spread (ATS) this season, which is tied for the worst mark in the NFL with the Saints. Over the last four seasons, Mariota is 3-11 straight up (SU) when his team is the underdog; he's lost eight straight games outright as a 'dog, according to our Evan Abrams.

The game script will bode well for this Troy Franklin prop.

The former Oregon standout has enjoyed a breakout season and ranks second on the Broncos in receptions and receiving yards.

However, in a positive game script with the Broncos as 6-point favorites, I do not expect Denver to throw the ball often in the second half.

Our Action Pro Report projects 3.8 receptions for Franklin tonight.
