Trump Oklahoma Rally Word Board
Traders at Kalshi are leaning into these phrases:
Why this event matters
This is a full-length midterm rally, the format where Trump runs his longest and loosest. Prepared lines about the local ticket sit next to his national stump speech, and the stump speech is where most of this board lives.
Oklahoma is safe ground for Republicans, which raises the question of why he is there. Trump won all 77 counties in 2024, but polling from the Economist and YouGov shows his approval in the state has slipped since. Expect a turnout speech built around Mazzei and Hern, with the economy, prices and the border carrying it.
The location adds a wrinkle. Durant sits in the Texoma region, a short drive from Texas, where Trump has spent weeks backing Ken Paxton against James Talarico. And the week’s news hands him two lines he has been repeating everywhere: oil flowing out of the Strait of Hormuz, and his plan to rename AI “super intelligence.”
The word list: what to watch
“Paxton / Talarico” — 63%
The biggest mover on the board, up 21 points. Trump has praised Paxton and mocked “Talafreako” for weeks, and Durant draws from the North Texas side of the Red River. The catch is that he is in Oklahoma to sell Oklahoma candidates. He did not say either name at his last two out-of-state rallies, in Gastonia, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC.
“Aluminum” — 79%
This is the Oklahoma word. A large aluminum smelter is planned in the state, and Trump brings it up almost every time Oklahoma comes up. He said “aluminum” three times in a short tele-rally for Mazzei on Aug. 24, and again on Sept. 28 when he called the Oklahoma plant possibly the biggest in the world.
“Hormuz” — 37%
Trump said “Hormuz Strait” at every on-record appearance from Sept. 26 through Sept. 30, usually to argue that record oil flows will bring gas prices down. With “Oil / Gas / Gasoline” at 94%, the question is whether the gas-price riff carries Hormuz with it. He skipped it at Gastonia but used it at the RNC convention in Dallas. The exact rule wording matters: check whether “Strait of Hormuz” counts.
“Sanctuary” — 36%
Down 20 points, the steepest drop on the board. Oklahoma has no sanctuary-city fight, which explains the selling. But the phrase is part of his stock midterm list (“open borders, sanctuary cities, massive tax hikes”). It appeared at both Gastonia and Myrtle Beach.
“Barack Hussein Obama” — 56%
The contract needs the full three-word name, not just “Obama.” Trump used it at the Dallas convention and at a White House event on Sept. 30. It did not come up at Gastonia or Myrtle Beach.
“Iran (5+ times)” — 42%
Iran is a near-certain mention; five is the hard part. He said it eight times at the Dallas convention and three times at Gastonia. A long foreign-policy stretch gets it there; a speech that stays on Oklahoma likely does not.
“AI / Artificial Intelligence” — 43%
Up 7 points. Trump is in the middle of renaming AI “super intelligence,” and he keeps explaining the change (“It’s not AI, it’s SI”). That explanation would still count. But the bit has lived at policy events this week, not rallies.
“Fake News” — 96%
The top of the board, and it has earned it. Trump said “fake news” at almost every public appearance last week, including a golf event.
How the board is built
The board is top-heavy. Nine words sit at 79% or higher, and the top five (Fake News, Oil / Gas / Gasoline, Transgender, Healthcare, Afford) are all above 90%. The market is confident about the shape of the speech: prices, the media, culture-war lines and the economy.
The real uncertainty sits between 36% and 63%, and it splits into two groups. One is local: Paxton / Talarico depends on how much Texas creeps into an Oklahoma speech. The other is national and topical: Hormuz, Iran (5+ times), AI and Sanctuary all depend on how long Trump spends on his national stump material instead of the Oklahoma ticket.
The two biggest moves point in opposite directions. Traders bid up the Texas name by 21 points and sold Sanctuary by 20. They are betting on a speech shaped by geography rather than by his stock script. If Sanctuary hits and Paxton does not, the stump speech won.
