Manchester City vs Crystal Palace
Enzo Maresca's Man City managerial debut was far from convincing. They needed a late comeback to beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Etihad, but Crystal Palace are the right opponent to find their rhythm.
Palace lost 2-0 to Everton on Matchday 1 and have seen significant squad turnover this summer.
City have too much quality at every position, and Maresca will demand a much better performance on the road at Selhurst Park. Back City to deliver.
Pick: Manchester City Moneyline (-350)
Brentford vs Leeds
Two teams built to score — and in Leeds’ case, built to concede too. Leeds won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Matchday 1 in a scrappy affair, but showed defensive vulnerability throughout last season.
Brentford were dominant, beating Tottenham 3-0 and looking every bit the top-10 side they are under Keith Andrews.
At Elland Road with a fired-up home crowd, this game has goals written all over it.
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (-112)
Brighton vs Chelsea
Brighton put 4 past Aston Villa. Chelsea put 3 past Fulham. These are two of the most attack-minded sides in the Premier League, facing each other in what should be an open, end-to-end match.
Brighton’s attack is firing on all cylinders, and Chelsea’s quality under Xabi Alonso is undeniable, even if the defense remains suspect.
Both teams to score is almost a given, and getting over 2.5 goals alongside it at -130 is simply a smart number. This is the pick of the weekend.
