Soccer fans around the globe are tuning in, but so are bettors interested in the many available markets. So, we'll bring you match and player props for every matchday throughout the tournament.
Let's get into our World Cup prop picks for Sunday, June 14.
World Cup Sunday Prop Picks
Curaçao vs Germany Prop Picks
Kai Havertz finished his season with Arsenal on a personal high note, scoring in his second Champions League final and performing as many have been waiting for him to do for quite some time.
He appeared in crucial moments, with four goals in just six UCL matches, and has also scored in two of the last four friendlies with Germany. Against the weakest team in their group — and possibly in the entire World Cup — it's more than reasonable to expect him to score.
Curaçao will need to find ways to stop Leroy Sane down the flanks, and those attempts will likely result in two or more fouls, including a yellow card.
With a high ball-possession percentage throughout the game, the ball will probably be more on Sane's feet, with him trying to find an opening or space for a nice cross.
You can parlay both at +274 at DraftKings.
Japan vs Netherlands Prop Picks
A string of 1-0 scores in their recent friendlies really tells a lot of what you need to know about Japan. This is a disciplined, resilient team.
Their efforts to contain a Netherlands team that scored 27 goals in just eight qualifying matches will likely result in scarce offense, particularly early on. Corner totals haven't been that high in this World Cup so far, so this is a nice angle for it.
Virgil Van Dijk is one of the premier defenders in open space, which he'll probably have to prove again vs. Japan and their counter-attacks.
Even if he's still a bit past his prime, Van Dijk could still cover this prop and give us nice value.
You could parlay these picks for a +330 payout at DraftKings.
Ecuador vs Ivory Coast Prop Picks
Urgency is always present in a World Cup, even in the first match, because sometimes that's all it takes to go home.
Both teams are likely to go through, either as second-best in Group E behind Germany or as one of the best third-place teams, but for the first of those outcomes, they should win this match, so expect them to take risks from the get-go.
Tunisia vs Sweden Prop Picks
Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres should show up on the scorecard against lowly Tunisia, so take your pick.
I'll go with Isak, as he's the most complete player of the two, and can either assist or score in different situations: open field runs, headers, loose balls in the box, you name it.
