A new champion will be crowned in Paris, and it couldn't have been any other way after a tournament full of surprises. On Sunday, Alexander Zverev will face Flavio Cobolli for the Roland Garros title.
The Italian is well-rested after advancing on a walkover in the semifinal, as Matteo Arnaldi was forced to retire due to a viral illness. Meanwhile, Zverev sent Jakub Mensik home in four sets on Friday and will be the heavy favorite in this final.

Zverev vs Cobolli Preview, Prediction
Alexander Zverev Betting Preview
It is time. It should never have been a question that Alexander Zverev would be Jannik Sinner's main rival once Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from Paris. And certainly, there shouldn't have been doubts regarding his status as the overwhelming favorite to win it the moment Sinner was eliminated.
But there were, and everyone knows why. Zverev hasn't been able to get over the hump and earn his place among the greatest. He already has an Olympic Gold Medal, ATP Tour Finals titles, 24 ATP trophies, including seven Masters 1000 titles, but is still missing the biggest one: an elusive Grand Slam.
Now, he can finally achieve it. He could leave behind all those heartbreaks. For example, his first GS final in the 2020 US Open, where bigger favorites said goodbye and left him and Dominic Thiem with the chance to claim their first major. Also, the other two defeats at the doorsteps of glory: the 2024 French Open final against Alcaraz and the 2025 Australian Open final versus Sinner.
However, the worst could have been the 2024 Australian Open semifinal, right after he beat Alcaraz and had to face Daniil Medvedev for a chance to go to the decisive match. That was probably the one that cemented his bad reputation in the biggest moments. Two sets up and just a few points away from winning, Zverev collapsed and lost all three remaining sets.
On Sunday, that reputation is forgotten if he wins, which he totally should. Zverev only had to go to four sets in two matches these past two weeks: against Quentin Halys in the third round and against Mensik in the semifinal. His mobility and excellent baseline game were at their best in Paris, and he just needs to take the last step.
Flavio Cobolli Betting Preview
This will be quite the leap for Flavio Cobolli, however it turns out. Not only is he guaranteed to enter the ATP rankings top 10 on Monday for the first time in his career, but if he wins, he will become World No. 5.
His previous best performance in a major tournament was reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2025. At Roland Garros, Cobolli had improved each year, going from the qualy second round in 2022, to the main draw first round in 2023, second in 2024 and third in 2025.
Now, all of a sudden, he's a Grand Slam finalist, and it's actually not only deserved, but probably the first of a few more, if Sinner and Alcaraz (or their fitness) allow it.
It's true the Italian had an easy route, with only one great opponent along the way, Felix Auger-Aliassime, whom he defeated in four sets in the quarterfinals, but Cobolli's progress is evidence that he was due.
Now, he gets to determine how big the leap will be and how he will be mentioned moving forward. Will it be "top-10 player, Flavio Cobolli", or better yet, "Grand Slam champion, Flavio Cobolli"?
Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Predictions, Betting Analysis
Both are excellent baseliners, and while Zverev is an elite server, Cobolli has also improved in that aspect of his game.
The head-to-head favors the German three wins to one. Three of those four matches were on clay, and both players won in straight sets against each other this year: Cobolli in Munich and Zverev in Madrid.
Sascha will need to dictate the pace and remain on his front foot. Meanwhile, Cobolli will take more risks, trying to provoke and unsettle his rival.
Zverev needs to be steady on his serve, especially his second, as he's prone to committing double faults in tight spots.
If he avoids those mistakes and keeps his head level at all times, this should not be another heartbreak but his final coronation.
Pick: Zverev -4.5 Alt Spread / Zverev to Win First Set (-125, DraftKings)
