Sabalenka vs Noskova Preview, Prediction

By: Tudor Cosma

Aryna Sabalenka Betting Preview

Sabalenka, a 28-year-old Belarusian who's ranked No. 1 in the WTA rankings, remains perhaps the most consistent player in the world at this level.

This is her 17th quarterfinal in her last 20 Grand Slam appearances, and she has 17 consecutive victories at the US Open and is the champion of the last two editions.

The reality is different, though. Sabalenka is most likely at the end of her dominance in the WTA. She will soon lose her position as world No. 1, as she's threatened not only by Elena Rybakina, but also by Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula.

All of them seem to be playing better than Sabalenka and all of them have had a more solid year.

Sabalenka is in a period of visible decline in terms of her game. Obviously, she can still beat anyone and doesn't have many problems with lower-ranked players.

Even so, if we look at her year, we see that in the Grand Slams, she has only one final, losing to Rybakina at the Australian Open. She hasn't excelled in smaller tournaments either. She managed to win the Sunshine Double, but otherwise, she has nothing relevant.

This decline is normal in sports. No one can dominate perpetually, especially in the context of the women's circuit, with at least 10 names, if not 20, who can always impose themselves in any tournament.

It doesn't mean that Sabalenka will disappear or become a mediocre talent on tour. I think she'll continue to win Grand Slams in the future and she'll have many incredible tournaments, but she won't be as consistent and will share her supremacy with other players.

There are probably changes in the psychological side as well. It's difficult to stay so motivated for a long period of time and make tennis a decisive priority. It's tiring and you end up with a burnout.

Her tennis hasn't changed much, though. The serve is more modest than in the past, and she commits more unforced errors. But otherwise, she remains extremely efficient and aggressive from the baseline, with a game that's difficult for opponents to counter.

The 2026 season has been only OK for her standards. For example, at Wimbledon, she lost in the fourth round to Naomi Osaka. She didn't recover on hard courts, either.

In Toronto, she lost in the fourth round to Ekaterina Alexandrova, and in Cincinnati, she dropped a match in the fourth round to Sara Bejlek.

In New York, she's been better while playing in conditions that she really likes. However, even though she won in straight sets, she didn't really impress against Taylor Townsend, especially on serve.

Linda Noskova Betting Preview

Noskova, a 21-year-old Czech who's ranked sixth in the WTA, is in the best position of her career.

She has a bright future, but the present has also been brilliant. Noskova is already a Grand Slam champion, winning Wimbledon this summer.

However, in the future, I think she'll fight for many more trophies and will become a force to be feared in the WTA.

She has many assets, besides her youth. She has a lot of room for progress in the coming years, and I think we'll see an improved version of her soon.

She already has a good serve, and she hits very aggressively and powerfully from the baseline.

The biggest advantage she has is her psyche. I was completely impressed by what happened at Wimbledon when she missed multiple chances to close out the match in the second set of the final.

Everyone expected her to completely collapse after that set, considering her age and the fact that it was her first major final.

However, Noskova regrouped and played excellently in the third set, topping Karolina Muchova for the title.

In the fourth round of the US Open, we saw something similar. She served for the second set against Marta Kostyuk at 40-15, but ended up losing that set. It went to a decider, where, normally, many athletes are too stressed by missed chances and lose the match.

But that's not Noskova, who remained very focused and didn't seem to think about the missed opportunities at all.

This mental strength seems amazing to me and can transform her into one of the great champions of this sport.

Overall, the 2026 season has been incredible for Noskova. We already talked about the title at Wimbledon, but she also won in Berlin on grass (a surface she really seems to like).

On hard courts, she wasn't nearly as impressive. In Toronto, she lost in her first match to Caty McNally, and in Cincinnati, she was stopped in the fourth round against Amanda Anisimova.

But in New York, she has been much better. She lost a set to Ann Li and to Kostyuk, but no harm done there.

Ultimately, she has little chance of winning this match, though.

Sabalenka vs Noskova Predictions, Betting Analysis

Sabalenka came into this event in extremely poor form, as she didn't reach the quarterfinals in the last three tournaments. However, in this complex, she feels much more comfortable, as she's won 17 matches in a row.

On the flip side, we must also take into account the fact that she had an easy draw this year, as three of her wins were against players outside the WTA top 90.

Sabalenka is weaker than in the past, and she'll soon lose her world No. 1 ranking. Thus, I can't trust her on the spread.

The good news is she remains aggressive, with a strong serve. And that strong serve results in aces being recorded at a decently high clip. Against Townsend, she served only two, but she had 10 against Kamilla Rakhimova.

Noskova is a very talented athlete, a recent champion at Wimbledon and she's very strong mentally. She has a good serve, but she's slow on return. She allowed 10 aces to Li while serving nine herself. Against Kostyuk, she didn't serve any and allowed nine.

That in turn leaves us our handicap.

I'll back Sabalenka to serve more aces at -200 at BetMGM.

Pick: Aryna Sabalenka More Aces Than Linda Noskova (-200, BetMGM)
