Betting Highlights
Favorite Bet of All-Time
You tend to remember the losses more than the wins, but one summer during undergrad, I remember hitting on plenty of grass-court set overs. For a little while, I felt invincible. Of course, that feeling quickly faded.
Most Heartbreaking Bet
A few summers ago, I had the biggest bet of my life on the Portland Timbers to beat the Seattle Sounders. The Timbers went up a goal, and when a Sounders player got a red card to put the Timbers up a man, I was feeling really good. Unfortunately, in stoppage time, the Sounders scored equalized. I spent most of my night lying in bed restless, desperately hoping that the melatonin would eventually kick in.
