Bet the British Open, Win $200 (No Matter What!)

Another major means we'll take a deeper look into the prop and matchup markets this week.

I was able to target a couple of props that I think have some value. I also targeted one matchup.

Low Senior: Padraig Harrington (+210 Hard Rock)

Harrington has been on a good run in the Champions Tour, winning the U.S. Senior Open to go along with three second place finishes in seven total starts.

His main competition here will be Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els. Mickelson's game hasn't looked right for quite awhile for obvious reason.

As for Els, he's only finished ahead of Harrington once in the last six events.

We could get a sleeper like Paul Lawrie or Darren Clarke popping up here, but Harrington is a clear notch above everyone else in this group.

Low Amateur: Keita Nakajima (+250 FanDuel)

Nakajima has held the No. 1 spot in the world amateur rankings for quite some time now. He's up against five others in this group, but is clearly the best of the bunch.

Only Sam Bairstow (currently No. 12) is ranked inside the top 50.

The American James Piot — who would normally be a threat here — has turned pro, so he lost his qualifications, leading to a weaker than normal group.

Nakajima has also been playing on Japan's pro tour for over a year now, and got a win last year, so he's been playing a lot more and against better competition leading into the event.

Matchup: Hideki Matsuyama over Viktor Hovland (-110 DraftKings)

I've been looking for a spot to get money against Hovland this week, and this was the one I liked the most. Hovland's around-the-green struggles are well documented, and St. Andrews really isn't the place where you can be trying to figure out that portion of your game.

He only has one top-20 finish in the past four months, and that was at Match Play, where he still wasn't able to get out of his group.

With Hideki, I have no concerns with his game around the greens. He really doesn't have much trouble chipping at all. Now, making the four footers he leaves himself could always be an issue, but overall, I think he should be a decent favorite here on a course he should be better suited for.
