Presidents Cup Round 3 Best Bets

Justin Thomas/Jackson Koivun To Beat Min Woo Lee/Sungjae Im (-138 | Play to -145)

By Tony Sartori

Saturday's fourballs see Justin Thomas and Jackson Koivun take on Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im. At -138, it's worth backing the American pair to secure the point.

Thomas has been spectacular in Presidents Cup events. Entering this edition of the tournament, Thomas was 10-3-2 through 15 matches.

This is also a course where JT holds the course record with his 61 during the 2019 BMW Championship.

He is paired with Koivun, who is 1-0 in his debut of this tournament. Koivun exploded onto the PGA scene with his win at the 3M Open and six-straight top-35 finishes to close out 2026.

Meanwhile, Lee and Im had a tough record in their 2024 appearances in this tournament. In that outing, Lee finished 0-1-1 and Im finished 1-4.

Scottie Scheffler/Sam Burns To Beat Hideki Matsuyama/Ryo Hisatsune (-180)

By Spencer Aguiar

A team event isn't your standard betting card, and I am going to do something on Saturday that isn't your typical stance from me. I am someone who likes the long-shot wagers and trying to find value down the board. But at what point does the pricing move too far for world number one?

If you shop around, you can find Burns and Scheffler at around -180 to beat Matsuyama and Hisatsune. That's a lot of juice to lay for someone who is exhibiting a top-five worst win percentage of golfers who have played 23 matches for the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup (shoutout to RickRunGood for the statistic), but I do think a lot of that can be chalked up to the difficulty Scheffler experiences in alternate shot, and the pressure his partners undergo (even someone like Sam Burns, who is as good a friend with him as anyone in the world).

While Matsuyama did help to lead Hisatsune to a victory on day one over Schauffele/Young, let's not lose sight of the fact that only Clark, Im, and Tom Kim have outperformed Scheffler's strokes gained total over the opening two rounds. Burns' mark also landed him fifth on that chart, making this a potential buy-low spot that my model had projected at -233 for the proper total.

Maybe this turns into a situation where I regret falling for the Scheffler trap again, but this is the USA's largest advantage on the board for pure win equity in my model, and a matchup that rides solely on the best player in the world showing his talent in the anchor match.
