Brazil's Silva most recently was in action against Clay Guida in December, when he took home a 29-28 (x3) unanimous decision for his first win in more than a year.

Silva has lost four in his last seven fights after beginning his career 10-0. Since debuting at UFC 191 in the world's largest MMA promotion, he's 6-4 with three knockouts.

Unfortunately for Silva, three of those last four losses – all have occurred since August 2019 – have been by knockout or technical knockout due to punches.

Klose equals Silva's 5-foot-8 stature and has a slight 70- to 69-inch reach advantage. Klose also has been stopped only once – by Beneil Dariush at UFC 248 in March 2020. He's riding a three-fight winning streak, most recently getting a slam KO over Joe Solecki in December of 2023 on the same card where Silva was most recently victorious, snapping a 17-month layoff.

Klose is a deserved favorite here because Silva has been proven to be chinny over his last several fights; Klose averages 4.33 strikes per minute, 0.72 more than Silva, who enters as a slight underdog on Saturday night.

Klose is also the more accurate striker, landing at 55% to Silva's 41%. Klose will likely prefer to keep the fight away from the ground against Silva, who does have three career submissions and is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu with a black kruang in muay Thai.

Despite Silva's better versatility on the surface, Klose is the more dangerous fighter if this remains a standup clash.

Silva vs. Klose Pick

I'll take a shot on Klose by KO/TKO at +210, which is available on FanDuel – a quarter unit or so, maybe a half at most.

I just think that once your chin goes, it goes, and it's been proven across combat sports.

Silva's been stopped three times within the last five years, all via punches. Of Klose's six knockout finishes, five are due to punches.

The wrong end of it here is that he has just two KO/TKO wins in his 10 UFC fights, and one of them is a slam, but this has more to do with Silva's recent history. And because of that, I think +210 is worth a small play.

Enjoy the fight and don't go broke.

The Pick: Drakkar Klose by KO/TKO (+210 at FanDuel)
