Knicks vs Warriors NBA Preview

The Knicks just lost a dumbfounding one against the Kings last night, dropping to 8-11 on the road this season.

New York is just 1-10 straight up against teams that are .500 or better on the road this season, with that lone win coming against a short-handed Raptors team that was missing RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.

The Knicks, who won 117-101, were also without Deuce McBride and Landry Shamet in that NBA Cup quarterfinal game.

The Warriors give the Knicks an opportunity at their first quality road win of the season, but it'll be far from easy.

The Knicks are on the second of a back-to-back and lost Jalen Brunson last night due to an ankle injury, which was a non-contact roll of the right ankle while making a move with the basketball.

The Warriors, who are 14-6 at home this season, thumped the Blazers two nights ago at home, 119-97. Quietly, they've won 9-of-13, and have an opportunity to rise in the standings while on an eight-game homestand, in which this is game No. 5.

Brunson (ankle) is unlikely to play tonight. Mitchell Robinson isn't on the injury report as of this morning, but he hasn't played a back-to-back since April of 2024, so him playing would be a surprise. Shamet (shoulder) remains out.

For the Warriors, only Seth Curry (sciatica) is out at the time of writing.

Knicks vs Warriors Prediction, Betting Analysis

I'm back on Deuce McBride over 11.5 points. I had him last night at over 10.5; he finished with 10, shooting 4-for-14 after an 0-for-9 start in the first half. It happens.

But now, we're expecting Jalen Brunson to be out with an ankle injury. If by some miracle he just plays — unlikely in today's NBA — then that affects Tyler Kolek much more significantly than McBride in terms of opportunities.

McBride, since returning from injury, is averaging just under 30 minutes per contest — and that's with Brunson active. He'll play, he'll get volume, and he should clear this unless he shoots terribly again.

He's gone under in two straight games, but we're buying low at 11.5, banking on the seven overs in a row prior to that.

I expected to be talking about Kolek points + assists, PRA or just assists, but his props aren't listed as of this writing. I'll likely log a Kolek angle in the app if Brunson officially does miss.

Pick: Deuce McBride Over 11.5 Points (-152)
