  • Duke is an 8-point favorite over Florida State in the 2019 ACC Championship Game.
  • Zion Williamson has been scorching hot since returning from injury, will he lift the Blue Devils over the Seminoles?

College basketball delivered in a big way on Friday night. An incredible night of tournament games has brought us to the final day before Selection Sunday.

At the top of today's big showdowns is the ACC Tournament Championship between Duke and Florida State.

Let’s take a deep dive on the battle between the Blue Devils and Seminoles (3:30 p.m. ET) in the ACC Championship Game.

Betting Odds: Florida State Seminoles vs. Duke Blue Devils

  • Spread: Duke -8
  • Over/Under: 145.5
  • Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
  • TV: ESPN

Buoyed by the return of Zion Williamson, the Blue Devils earned a hard-fought 74-73 win over North Carolina in the ACC semifinals.  Williamson's 31 points and 11 rebounds gave Duke their first win over their Tobacco Road rivals in their third encounter this season.

Duke will face Florida State in the Finals. The Blue Devils defeated the Seminoles, 80-78, back on Jan. 12 in Tallahassee. In that game, Williamson was forced to leave early with an eye injury, opening the door for fellow freshmen R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish to shine.

Barrett (32 points) and Reddish (23 points) were both sensational, and the Blue Devils escaped with the win after Reddish hit his fifth three-pointer of the game with 0.8 seconds left.

This is a great matchup between the best 2P offense and defense in the ACC. Duke has the fourth-best efficiency in the country from inside the arc, and they rank a distant first in conference play. Florida State has been tenacious in ACC play, holding opponents to only 41.9% from 2P.

The weakness of both teams is 3P shooting, but Duke has a distinct advantage in defending the three-pointer. The Blue Devils rank seventh in the country against the 3P, holding opponents to just 29.7%.

The Seminoles will be banking on a big game from senior guard Terance Mann (41.2% 3P) but he is in the midst of a huge slump.  Over his last four games, Mann is only shooting 16.6% (2-for-12) from beyond the arc.

Florida State's advantage over most teams is their length and dominance on the interior. Duke is one of the few teams that can match the Seminoles inside, ranking second in the country with 42.1 rebounds per game.

The Seminoles scored a huge 69-59 win over top-seeded Virginia to reach the ACC Finals, but the Blue Devils athleticism and rebounding will limit the Seminoles offensive efficiency.

Take Duke, behind another huge game from Zion Williamson, to earn the win and secure the ACC Tournament championship.

THE PICK:  Duke -8
