With four teams ranked inside the top 10 of the AP poll, including three of the nation's top five teams, there are plenty of worthy contenders in the mix for the Big 12 Regular Season Champion.

The Big 12 has six ranked teams overall, and any of the top four are notable contenders to take the conference title, although the reigning champions, Houston, and the last major-conference team to lose a game, Arizona, are the two overwhelming favorites to win it.

For anyone interested in placing a bet on the Big 12 Regular Season Champion, Kalshi allows bettors to place real money on the outcome in most states.

Big 12 Regular Season Champion Odds

Houston has won a conference title (in either the AAC or Big 12) in every non-COVID year since 2018-19. In case you needed a reminder, the Cougars went 19-1 in conference play last season en route to winning their second straight Big 12 title, losing only to Texas Tech by one point at home in overtime.

Houston already avenged that loss this season, beating Texas Tech at home to hand the Red Raiders their first conference loss, although Texas Tech later handed the Cougars their first conference loss as well when the teams rematched in Lubbock. Houston is off to another strong start to the conference season, and took over as the odds-on favorite after beating BYU on the road a few days before Arizona lost its first conference game to Kansas.

Speaking of Kansas, the Jayhawks are far behind Houston and Arizona in odds, but just barely lag behind those two in the actual standings. Kansas has three games left against the other top-four teams in the conference, and already owns wins against Arizona and Iowa State.

The Cyclones, although they haven't been mentioned in this article until now, also have a decent chance to win the conference, but have already lost two games in conference play, despite still having to play each of the other five ranked teams in the conference one more time later in the season.

Those four juggernauts will go back and forth throughout the season, and whichever team ends up winning the most games head-to-head against the top of the conference will almost certainly win the conference title.

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in all 50 states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections and even weather.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
