Georgia Tech vs Cal College Basketball Betting Preview

I project Cal as a nearly 10.5-point favorite, so I'm happy to lay under eight with the Bears at home.

College Basketball Projections, Picks: Tanner McGrath's Power Ratings & Score Model Image

Surprisingly, Georgia Tech has yet to make the new ACC West Coast trip, having hosted Cal last season (a 90-88 overtime victory) and not yet faced Stanford.

Moreover, the Yellow Jackets have yet to leave the Eastern time zone this season, with only four true road games (Duke, Miami, Virginia Tech, NC State) and a two-game MTE in Florida (DePaul, Drake) — for what it's worth, they're 1-5 in those games straight up but 5-1 against the spread.

It's a long, tough trip out to Berkeley. Just ask North Carolina, as the Heels traveled out there as seven-point favorites last week and lost outright by six.

I think Georgia Tech might have a tough time in this newfound travel spot.

My Pick: Cal -7.5 or Better
