Ben Howlett’s Jaguars run a supercharged all-out attack, combining 40 minutes of full-court press, insane tempo, limitless transition attacks, and an air-raid pace-and-space offense.
The press is insane. The Jags trap the ball-handler for all 94 feet, which typically results in a turnover for a run-out bucket or an easy transition bucket the other way because the press is beaten for a man-up opportunity.
I’ve been trying to keep tabs on IU Indy’s totals this season. It’s been a challenge making lines for the Jags. Early in the year, sportsbooks priced these totals far too low, but they overadjusted, which is why the Jags are 15-8 to the Under this season.
That said, I think the books have settled into the correct range, especially because the Jags have pumped the brakes a bit in conference play, resulting in less general tempo-based variance. The past four IU Indy games have finished 2-2 to the Over.
All this to say that I feel much better about my IU Indy score projections relative to the market, which is why I feel comfortable betting this Over.
The first matchup between these two featured 178 points across 68 possessions. The Panthers and Jaguars combined for 37 fast-break points, 21 turnovers, 90 paint points, 29 made free throws, 35 fouls, 29 second-chance points, and 17 made triples (at just 35%, so nothing crazy).
