The Northeast Conference commences its conference tournament on Wednesday with four games.

Saint Francis (PA) is the worst team in the conference and takes on Central Connecticut State. No. 7 seed Long Island University takes on Merrimack. NCAA Tournament darling from last season Fairleigh Dickinson will face Le Moyne as the No. 5 seed. And Wagner faces No. 3 seeded Sacred Heart for the right to make the semifinals.

The winner of this tournament, of course, gets a ticket to the dance.

Central Connecticut State and Merrimack tied during the regular season with identical conference records. Central Connecticut ultimately won the tiebreaker with a better overall record than Merrimack.

Fairleigh Dickinson won this tournament last season, after which they made one of the most memorable runs in March Madness history.

After winning the First Four game in order to become a No. 16 seed, Fairleigh Dickinson faced a tall task in facing off against the No. 1 overall seed in Purdue.

FDU won as roughly +2000 underdogs in a history-making game, becoming just the second No. 16 seed to knock off a No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament history.

The Knights went on to fall to Florida Atlantic in the Round of 32, with FAU making a Cinderella run of their own. FAU made it all the way to the Final Four before falling to San Diego State on a last minute shot.
