The top eight teams in the Ohio Valley Conference qualified for the tournament, with the winner punching its ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

The 23-8 Morehead State Eagles are favored to win despite entering the tournament as the 3-seed. They ended the year tied with the Little Rock Trojans and UT Martin Skyhawks for the best record in the conference at 14-4.
