Rhode Island vs Duquesne College Basketball Betting Preview

I project around 147.2 points for this A-10 showdown, so I see some value on the over at 144 or better, or a three-point-or-greater difference between my projection and the market.

College Basketball Projections, Picks: Tanner McGrath's Power Ratings & Score Model Image

Although Rhode Island games are just 9-12 to the over this season, I think the Rams are a good team to target for higher-scoring games. They force a ton of turnovers and spend a ton of time in transition.

At the same time, they turn the ball over a ton, can allow run-out buckets and foul like crazy (stopping the clock and gifting free points to the other team).

Meanwhile, Duquesne games are 13-6 to the over this season, including 9-3 in Pittsburgh.

The Dukes run at a top-40 pace nationally, shoot a ton of 3s and hit them at a respectable 34% clip. They also spend a ton of time in transition, and they’re a lousy transition defense the other way.

My Pick: Over 144.5 or Better
